It does soften at the very tail, even while Frest is still technically in the room, and by the time the door shuts and Nikolas turns to Winter, it's very nearly sweet. It's certainly a real one.]
He'll have a night of it with Amalia, surely, playing chess or whatever they might get up to. I can't feel too terrible for him being kicked out. Don't dare tell Amalia I said that; she might think I was complimenting her.
